Randy Steele Music

Hey everybody, My name is Randy Steele. I’m a banjo playing singer songwriter from Chattanooga Tennessee and I’m fired up to be coming to the Academy Theater in Hapeville Georgia. I’m also really excited to announce that I’m bringing my longtime friend and fellow bluegrasser John Boulware with me! John is a fantastic musician and friend. He and I have been playing music together for around 15 years in various bands and formations. We’ve toured extensively together around both the Eastern and Western US, we have toured in Europe together and haver even played a Maximum Security Prison in Belgium one time. We have a ton of stories and songs from over the years and I’m excited that he’s able to come with me for a few duo shows this year. We’ll be doing some standard bluegrass, some old, some new, some original stuff and we’ll probably swap instruments a couple of times. Our favorite subject is song so we’ll be talking and singing a lot about bluegrass songs, it will be a fun night, please come join us! Randy Steele is an award winning banjo pickin' singer/songwriter from Chattanooga, Tennessee. His first solo album ‘Songs from the Suck’ was released in early 2017 followed by ‘Moccasin Bender’ released in the summer of 2018 and ‘High Cold Wind’ in 2023. All of these releases were met with critical acclaim and spotlights from dozens of music critics, including Relix Magazine, No Depression, Americana Highways, and The Bluegrass Situation.  Steele won an Independent Music Award for Bluegrass 'Song of the Year' for "Mobile Soon" and was a semi finalist in the esteemed ‘American Songwriter’ song of the year for ‘Age of Ben’. Steele has also been a finalist in the New Song LEAF Songwriting Competition in North Carolina and the Kerrville Folk Festival ‘New Folk’ competition in Texas. Steele continues to play out and tour both solo shows and as the front man with Randy Steele and High Cold Wind. John Boulware is a multi-instrumentalist from Chattanooga Tennessee. Primarily a bluegrass musician, John has toured and played throughout the United States and Europe in various bands and as a music teacher. Boulware won both the prestigious Tennessee State Fiddle Championship and an Alabama State Championship for Mandolin. He has taught music for the last 15 years and continues to teach and run hi instructional Youtube page, Music Theory for Musicians.
