Settle into the driver’s seat. It’s time for an old school road trip, destination unknown. No streaming, only static airwaves. With the slight turn of the radio dial, a fresh yet familiar sound rings out through the speakers. The perfect summer soundtrack is none other than the Gents & Liars, a six-piece band washed in southern rock, outlaw country and groove based in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Before formulating a balanced blend of rock and country perfect for analog airwaves, members of the Gents & Liars were individually cutting their teeth on stages playing everything from alternative rock to bluegrass, country, and many genres in between. The Gents & Lairs first connected in 2015 through a desire to play songs straight from their hearts and pens, and reemerged in 2021 with the addition of keys, killer harmonies, and a renewed sense of purpose and conviction to deliver an elevated live music experience. The result is a slick original sound paired with a vintage vibe that sends a nostalgic kickdrum straight to listeners’ hearts.

Lead singer Sean McCurry and lead guitarist Tony Mowell go way back, forming their musical bonds while melting hearts with guitar riffs in high school. Serving in a dual role of bass player and brother to his lead guitarist band mate, David Mowell builds the groove foundation alongside drummer Craig Kestner, while Chris Ward adds a swath of color on rhythm guitar. Jimmy Dale is responsible for that big, dynamic sound on the keys that makes G&L stand out.

When the guys blend their individual talents, the result is timeless music like the classic "will they or won't they" story told through their latest single "What I've Got In Mind."

The Gents & Liars deliver a high-energy live performance of authentic outlaw country and southern rock elevated by three-part harmonies and first-class musicianship. The artists they grew up listening to inspires these groove engineers to create a special blend of original music that is both new and familiar.
