Inspired by how colours on a painter’s palette combine to create different, unique and at times, unexpected results, COLOURS delves into the possibilities and commonalities between trombone and piano, visual arts and music, the West (North America) and the East. The concert features music from the two hemispheres which represent our combined backgrounds: American, Canadian, Chinese, and Japanese. It also includes a world premiere by Ehren Valmé. The program explores the spectrum of parallel human experiences from childhood nostalgia to the complexity of adulthood across cultures.
