The Fake Friends Biography
Post-Punk, New Wave, Post-Wave?
With Fake Friends second release “Always Worse/Never Better”, The band has dialed in on a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh, luring in fans with their infectious choruses and addictive melodies. Blending Post-Punk with disco beats, Fake Friends has quickly become known as one of Montreal’s most energetic acts to grace the stage. The band has dropped the old “big things coming” mentality for a “If you don’t like it, who cares” attitude. Consisting of lead vocalist Matthew Savage, guitarists Luca Santilli and Felix Crawford-Legault, bassist Michael Kamps, synth specialist Timothy Aaron Bryan, and drummer Michael Jalil Khayat, their energetic set has brought them all over Canada's east coast - from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City to the Maritimes. With tongue in cheek song themes inspired by Montreal’s eclectic nightlife, Fake Friends is looking to become a fan favorite very soon.
