BITTER MOON (LUNA AMARA), represents the ideals of a whole generation of young Romanians who love their country but cannot do anything to change the mentality of the corrupt, older generation. The Romanian population has decreased by a million in the past 5 years due to the constant outpouring of Romanians who wish to benefit from a higher standard of living in "The West". BITTER MOON represents a generation of young Romanians who want to stay and make Romania a better place to live in.

Founded in September 1999, and initially calling themselves TANAGRA NOISE, their debut stage appearance was at a Freshman's Ball on December 12 that same year..

BITTER MOON has played on stage amongst all of the locally well-known Romanian rock bands.

They have been invited to interviews on all the Romanian TV stations and have been presented in all the Romanian music publications (BRAVO, POPCORN, Music Event, Art&Roll, Musical Report).
All the artists in the band want to dedicate their lives to promote and support a modern civilized European society in Romania.

BITTER MOON is one of Romania's most promising underground artists.

They have two professionally recorded cuts so far: Folclor [Folklore] and Gri dorian [Dorian Grey]. They both appear on the Romanian alternative rock compilation: SAPTE SERI [SEVEN EVENINGS] (Soft Records, 2000).
