About this concert
Austin sweethearts Dawn and Hawkes return with their family band, to their South Austin, at-home stage, Saxon Pub, to celebrate their newest release “Father’s House” on Father’s Day weekend.
Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes are joined by Zeke Benenate on bass and Miranda’s Dad, Chico Oropeza on drums and mandolin.
Chico has been an Austin musician for four decades. As a founding band member with Austin icons like Miss Lavelle White, The Derailers, Ponty Bone, The Tailgators, Chico plays with a wide variety of rock, reggae, zydeco, and even steel drum bands.
Miranda grew up immersed in the rhythm and melody.
Dancing barefoot at Auditorium shores, band rehearsals in their South Austin home, and a steady spinning turntable inspired her own songs.
Come join Dawn and Hawkes as they celebrate the release of their newest song about being raised by music and love, in her Father’s House, this Father’s Day weekend.

Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes are always excellent! It has been a long while since we saw them last and they just continue to get better and better. They had the “family” band at Gruene Hall and that’s my fave! Always adds a nice touch. So much fun!!!!
