Jason Roman Biography
Despite singing all his life, Jason didn't pick up a guitar until after a failed attempt at higher education. A friend showed him a couple of chords and he never looked back. He spent his early days cutting his teeth with a Boston based band, Inertia and that is when he discovered the addictive qualities of song writing.
After Inertia's fall to earth, Jason bounced around open mics and coffee houses between Boston and Salem, MA. It was during an extended trip to Dublin, Ireland (while playing constantly) that he knew he had to take his proverbial "shot" at the music business. He quickly came home and let serendipity take over.
While playing an open mic in Boston, he met a fella who would introduce him to his future bandmate, songwriting partner and constant passenger in the Honda Civic hatchback, David Rowe (The Spins, Save Grand Canyon). After a short stint as an Acoustic Duo, Rowe and Roman invited Bass Player Brad Gray (Tamara Birch Project, Dictatortots) and Drummer Dan Orchik (The Help, Dictatortots) to round out the Athens, GA based rock band Deacon Brody. After 5 years, over two hundred shows and trips to Boston, Colorado, Texas and back, (All while making and playing great rock and roll music mind you), DB decided to hang em up.
Jason Roman had been hiding a few acoustic based songs in his pocket and was blessed to have the ear of two fine connoisseurs of Athens, GA music. Neil & Pat Priest (The Priestly Boys) , and their Polyglot Record label, produced Roman's Timshel and gave it some room to breath.
After relocating to Portland, ME, Jason spent some time writing and playing music with Geoff Zimmerman, Calen Perkins and Eric Landau in the form of the band Luniere. After a full length Album and 2 EP's , Jason decided to finally record his follow up LP to Timshel. In the summer of 2023, he released In From The Cold, recorded in Nashville and available on most streaming platforms.
