Lal Karaalioglu

With critics already recognizing her as a rising star in the piano sky, Lal Karaalioglu has been impressing audiences with her unique playing and captivating performances.
In 2022, Lal achieved success winning 1st prize in her age category and "Grand Prix" for the best performance among all participants at the "Adana Rhapsody International Piano Competition". She won second prize at the "13th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition Marianske Lazne", where she got to perform with the "West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra" under the baton of Martin Peschik. Same year, she was selected for the esteemed TONALi Stage Academy in Hamburg, where she received a scholarship to pursue three years of study alongside her Master's studies in Hanover.
Lal's musical journey began in Istanbul, where she was born in 1998. After graduating with high marks from both Istanbul University State Conservatory and Deutsche Schule Istanbul in 2017, she embarked on her music studies at the prestigious Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hanover, studying under the guidance of Prof. Ewa Kupiec.
Throughout her career, Lal has had the privilege of participating in masterclasses conducted by esteemed pianists such as Idil Biret, Akiko Ebi, Janusz Olejniczak, Robert Shelley and Ewa Poblocka. These enriching experiences have further enhanced her musical understanding.
Lal's interest extends beyond solo piano repertoire. She is passionate about chamber music and recently founded the ensemble "Trio Hera" with Beliz Güney (Cello) and Elfida Su Turan (Violin), after being chosen as the few members of the "Women Stars of Tomorrow" project, supported by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, where their recording was streamed at "Istanbul Music Festival" in 2021.

Lal Karaalioglu continues her studies with Prof. Ewa Kupiec and gives recitals as a "Weltklassik am Klavier" artist in Germany.
