Almost Alive Biography
Hello there
Almost Alive aka “The Entjie Killers” is an alternative rock band based in Cape Town. Consisting of musicians from various musical backgrounds, their music aims to interpret rock music within a modern context while retaining the genre’s roots. Embracing production as well as musical elements from genres like Hip Hop, Jazz and Funk to create modern-rock sounding soundscapes.
Praised for their larger-than-life live performances reminiscent of the rock “Golden Age,” they continue to captivate crowds with their diverse setlist and high energy execution.
They released their debut album ‘Apple’ on the 16 of February 2024, where they honed in on their unique sound, reminiscent of artist such as the Arctic Monkeys, the Neighbourhood and Gorillaz.
The lineup consists of Henko 'Barry' Uys (vocals/bass), Hanju Potgieter (guitar/backing vocals), Matthew Marais (guitar/backing vocals), Timothy Fortes (drums) and Timothy Hurn (piano/synth).
Catch them in and around Cape Town, most likely enjoying a smoke.
