Great event. The sound was very good, the music was excellent. Nice crowd of several hundred "Baby Boomer's". I actually saw the original band in mid 1969 at a small club outside of Beaufort, SC. At the time, it was like being with the Chicago Transit Authority, later to become "Chicago." I have to say, the musicians who replaced the original members, are blessed with the identical...DNA! Their commitment, their talent and showmanship are spot on. I'm sure now that I am a South Carolinian, (Easley), I will see them again. Pickins, thanks for the event....Swingin' Medallions...Thanks for the memories!

Swingin' Medallions Biography

A party band if ever there was one, the Swingin' Medallions came out of Greenwood, South Carolina. The musical style of the band had been described as garage music, beach music, frat rock, or shaggin' music. The original members were: John McElrath (keyboards), Jim Doares (guitar), Carroll Bledsoe (trumpet), Charles Webber (trumpet), Brent Forston (sax, flute), Steven Caldwell (sax), James Perkins (bass), and Joe Morris (drums). The group is chiefly known for its classic, Double Shot (of My Baby's Love). The song became a million seller in 1966, and has been a party classic for decades. She Drives Me Out Of My Mind and & Hey, Hey, Baby were top 40 hits in 1966 and 1967. The band has has remained extremely popular and still regularly perform today.
