CAUCUS

CAUCUS is a Tokyo-based indie pop / shoegaze band whose sound draws deeply from US and UK independent music of the 1980s through the 2000s. Blending melodic guitars, memorable songwriting and subtle shoegaze influences into their own distinctive style, the band has built a reputation as one of Japan's long-running independent acts.
Over the years, CAUCUS has released a number of records, including work produced by KRAMER (Shimmy-Disc). The band is currently working on its first full-length album since Sound of the Air (2017), with the single "Kids" marking the beginning of a new chapter.
The members of CAUCUS are also active across Japan's independent music scene. Katsuya Yanagawa (vocals, guitar) also fronts BOAR HUNTER and has been a longtime live guitarist for Luminous Orange. Hiroko (vocals, guitar) also performs in the indie pop scene with Girl President. Yuta Ichikawa (guitar) leads the shoegaze band Float Down the Liffey and previously played alicetales. Taisuke Endo (drums) had previously performed with VELTPUNCH and Groundcover.
With a new album on the horizon, CAUCUS continues to explore timeless indie pop and shoegaze through their own unmistakable voice.
