Moving Pictures - Rush Tribute - Scotland Tickets, Tour Dates and Concerts
About this concert
Bank holiday Monday - it worked well last time! Yet again this will be a warm up show for RUSHfest Scotland later in the week. “That was the 3rd best Rush show I’ve ever seen. The first 2 were Rush.” Moving Pictures play for over two hours covering all the classics such as Tom Sawyer, The Spirit of Radio and Xanadu (with doubleneck guitars) plus some deeper cuts such as By Tor and later belters such as Far Cry and Headlong Flight. Featuring drummer Jamie Dunleavey — this young lady from St Andrews is scarily on point. It takes a unique set of skills to sing AND play bass AND play keys like Geddy Lee — John Power is incredibly accurate. Guitarist Steve Brown is a lifelong Rush fan and pro player with way too many guitars and wicked sense of humour — not unlike Mr Lifeson! Moving Pictures are regularly on the bill at Rush fan conventions, have recordings on all 3 Songs For Neil albums and have performed for and recorded with Rush producer Terry Brown.

What fans are saying

Long term Rush fan but first time I’ve seen MP. Absolutely excellent gig - flawless versions of classic Rush songs and all played with real passion and heart. Any Rush fan would get a blast from seeing Moving Pictures. Musicianship was tremendous, especially the drummer - who has a big ask doing the dearly-missed Neil Peart’s complex parts, but was breathtakingly good. The band themselves said that there were some new tunes on the setlist but apart from one moment of all members looking at each other going ‘Huh?’ (we’ve all been there at one time or another), you wouldn’t have known these songs weren’t regular material. Great night.

Moving Pictures - Rush Tribute - Scotland Biography

Power trio MOVING PICTURES are a Rush tribute at the top of their game. Playing over 50 gigs in 2023 including Lakeside Park in Canada for Neil Peart's family.
Favourites of Planet Rock's Darren Redick - who has been known to join them on stage.
They have recordings on all 4 Songs for Neil tribute albums, including performances with Terry Brown, Hugh Syme and Jacob Moon.

On hearing their original arrangement of AFTERIMAGE, Alex Lifeson wrote "Very moving and beautifully done. Heartfelt thanks to the band for their kind tribute."

Featuring drummer Jamie Dunleavey - this young lady from St Andrews is scarily on point.
It takes a unique set of skills to sing AND play bass AND play keys like Geddy Lee - John Power is incredibly accurate.
Guitarist Steve Brown is a lifelong Rush fan and pro player with way too many guitars and wicked sense of humour - not unlike a certain Mr Lifeson.

"They had only been on stage for mere minutes and already my face was aching from the sustained grin.
These strangers who weren't actually Rush made me feel as though I was finally attending a legitimate Rush concert.
The accuracy with which they all play while still maintaining a lighthearted approach to their performance is, well, it's exactly as you'd expect from Rush themselves."
Mark Reid - Rockfiend

"To emulate 3 of the highest musical calibre artists, with such gusto, was seriously impressive. "

“That was the 3rd best Rush show I’ve ever seen. The first 2 were Rush.”

"My Villa has never been so brilliantly strangled."
