About this concert
So for the next Tea & Oranges we throw it completely to the local scene. It?s special one as we welcome 3 acts all debuting the night but all important to what?s happened round here over the last few decades.
*The Wayfarers* play their first gig in 25 years. A band that charmed all who saw them in the early to late 90?s. Think Sarah Records, C86, Creation Records with the elements of the melodic magic of acts like Love, The Byrds, The Las. Bands like these existed in the time before sccial media but were crucial to the local music scene, zines etc. Memorable gigs with the likes of other local legends Beatglider live long in the memory for those there. Welcome back - The Wayfarers.
*I Knew These People* brand new Southend band featuring Amy Mckenny and Bryan Styles who have played the night before in other local bands.
*Daryl Tattoo* Southend based ambient guitarist used to fronting fusion bands is now set to play a set of ambient guitar works. Another debut to T&O
Thanks to all the local musicians. I?ve said it before but it?s your support playing the night and bringing your friends / fans that gives us the platform to book some of the best upcoming and interesting artist, bands, acts from far and wide, hopefully getting Southend more spotlight on Southend banning a great place to add to a tour. This one?s for all of you. ????????

The Wayfarers Biography
Hailing from rural Southeast Ohio, The Wayfarers emerged onto the scene in early 2010 playing their own form of American Roots music. While much of their repertoire is drawn from the Appalachian tradition they revere, The Wayfarers fuse tight musicianship - centered largely by the fiddle - with the high energy that characterized early mountain music. With old-time radio shows setting the example, their style encompasses Appalachian dance music, traditional mountain fiddle tunes, and pre-bluegrass music of the 1920's - resulting in a dose of nostalgic Americana. Their spirited approach to live performance is infectious, and people of all ages are drawn in to the sounds of thumping washtub bass, driving guitars, sawing fiddles, and rich harmonies. Whether it's at a large festival or barn square dance, a rock venue or a busy street corner, The Wayfarers continue to carry this music forward with creativity and authenticity, making it contemporary and fun.
The Wayfarers have been featured on the national PBS television series "Song of the Mountains", toured much of the Midwest and Southern Appalachians, released 4 studio albums, and have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in bluegrass & country music including Ricky Skaggs, Ralph Stanley, Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Dailey & Vincent, Lonesome River Band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Rhonda Vincent, Marty Raybon, Jerry Douglas, and many more.
