Have you ever had a song speak directly to your soul? You hear it and you're like, "Man, this band really gets me?" Austin-based band Burning Years–consisting of Sherman Chase-Taylor on lead vocals, Chris Barnes on percussion and vocals, Joey Held on guitar and vocals, Mikey Peña on guitar and Devon Sepeda on bass–has certainly experienced that feeling. The five-piece aims to capture the essence of life through its catalogue of pop-punk tunes that'll get the toes tapping and the heads bopping, and might even make you think a bit. As a bonus, their live shows are a full-on cardio workout without you ever needing to step on a treadmill – all you have to do is dance. Concert-goers may even get to witness one of the group's sexy 90s R&B covers or hear one of Barnes' "night on the town" stories. "We're fortunate to live in an amazing city for music," Held says. "We always have fun onstage, but when the crowd is jumping around like House of Pain, it's really something special." The band's debut EP Pavements was released in 2014, and they released a second EP, Coming Clean in March of 2016.
