Initially sprouting as a reissue label project for pyro + freaky prog, the innate desire for the sound resulted in lockdown tracks and mixes, and the natural step of becoming a producer moniker/DJ. Rooted from Ireland, and now based in the ‘Hollywood for DJs’ that is Berlin, Spray has quickly made noise for seminal crews such as Radiant Love, Soulseekers Allowance and HÖR. The live sound is a blend also, as on the decks Spray has one hand dusty from digging into the past, whilst the other gleams through indulging in the present. Essential for all heads-down prog movers seeking twisted momentum and glistening rhythms.
Like liquid mercury in a petri dish—slick, supple, and playfully disobedient—Rhyw’s music dazzles as it defies expectation. The Welsh-Greek artist cut his teeth as one half of Cassegrain and has been finding new paths for his mutant sound ever since, releasing on Fever AM, the imprint he set up with Mor Elian in 2017, as well as labels like Avian and Modeselektor’s SSPB.
In the studio or behind the decks, he brilliantly fuses different strains of ultra-modern techno and broken beat: eyes-down minimal lights up with modular sass, choppy kicks flirt with rolling grooves, and sharp sound design slices through earthy subs. It’s the kind of amphibious sound that can slip into otherworldly spaces while never truly leaving the dance floor.
Join us on the roof for the next installment of This is Nice, a musical showcase by Mina & NABŪ. This groovy duo uses their driving basslines and soulful melodies to take you to a place where the air feels light, the energy is just right…a place where you’ll say to yourself, this is nice : )

Spray Biography
Spray is a 21st century synthpop duo from England, starring Jenny McLaren and Ricardo Autobahn. Following the demise of their previous band, the Cuban Boys (famous for their Hamster Dance record and John Peel sessions), McLaren and Autobahn still live in the UK. Ninthwave Records in the USA has released the album Living In Neon and the single "I Am Gothic". A new album, Children of a Laser God is due fall of 2006.
Amongst other projects, Spray have been partially responsible for Glen Campbell's 2002 return to the top of the charts with the "Rhinestone Cowboy" remake, and the top 40 kids band the Barndance Boys. McLaren has a successful sideline in vocalising club/dance records, and Autobahn in soundtracks and commercials. The band has also had one of their singles appear in the Xbox game Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 3.
In 2006 Autobahn co-wrote and produced the UK's Eurovision entry, Teenage Life, with his long-term collaborator Daz Sampson.
