Sterling Cabbiness

Sterling Cabbiness is a singer, songwriter, and producer. Sterling got his start in music in 2015 teaching himself how to write songs and playing open mics. Later that year at the age of 16 he started performing gigs at bars, coffee shops, and festivals. Sterling needed to find a way into the music scene. With no money, connections, or interested parties. Sterling decided to start producing his own music. By the time he was 19 in 2018 he had released 5 EPs and over 20 songs on SoundCloud. Wanting to take things to the next level. After some experience he began releasing his music on major streaming platforms. He released 5 singles from 2019-2020. In 2021 he released the first singles that would later be on his 2022 EP "Practice". An homage to the words Sterling lives by which he calls his "PATHS". Practice, Positivity, Persistence, Patience, Passion. Sterling's upcoming album "Positivity" is the second in line for the dedication his "PATHS".



Sterling is known for his fusion of many different genres Pop, R&B, Folk, and Hip Hop as well as many more. His eclectic style was influenced by many artists. Some of his biggest influences include: Ed Sheeran, Mark Knopfler, Damon Albarn, Mac Miller, The Weeknd, Eagles, Billy Joel, Ariana Grande, John Denver. Just to name a few. With such an eclectic catalog of inspirations, there's truly something for everyone to enjoy with his music. Especially with his live performances that incorporate a wide range of genres from different generations. Using a loop pedal to layer guitar and vocals to create a truly unique and amazing experience.

Born in Austin, Texas, Sterling moved all over Texas and New Mexico growing up. Finally making his way back to Austin. Having moved so much as a child Sterling didn't keep friends or have much of a support network. Being bullied most of his childhood he found solace in music. When he was 14 his grandfather gifted him a guitar. He would practice his guitar by the time he got off school to when he fell asleep. In his bedroom is where his passion would go from a hobby to a career. After learning to write songs and thinking little of it. He wrote a song that would change his life and get him to pursue music professionally. Leaving home and foraging his own way to achieve his goals.
