FénixDion

Except for a very brief shower , luckily passed before FenixDion took the stage, it was perfect end of summer weather, mostly sunny and warm. The band was in good form ,with a relatively new guitarist in the mix, but if you had not seen them before you would think he'd always been with them. We also got some brand new songs in a longish set, some rocked hard, others are more funky and danceable, and all have interesting lyrics. I can't wait until the next album comes out. If I was truly going to review the venue, I'd knock off a star. Surly makes good beer and tasty food in their taproom, but everything was overpriced. It's still a good place for an outdoor show with such a large beer garden.

Band was in great form, even with an alternate guitarist! We lucked out with the weather, a perfect summer day for an outdoor show. No issues with sound after fixing something in sound check. So that all combined for a fun atmosphere despite the seriousness in some of the song lyrics. The woman initially sitting next to me had never heard them before and was soon really into it. so much so that she moved to a better spot for viewing even though it was worse for not having shade. As for me, I wasn't in my seat much anyway! Dancing or taking video.

My first time at Palmer's though I have worked at the U since 2001! Frontman Keston Wright said it was his first time there as well. The weather was perfect and the patio is a great place for a show. Sound levels were on point and the band was in great form. I find it impossible to remain sitting at any of their shows; this one was no exception. They are still rotating newer songs in the set lists, can't wait for the new album!

Brilliant performance even though they'd been on the road all day. FenixDion rocked hard , making it very hard to get decent video, the room was vibrating, and it was hard not to dance. But I hung in there for one song because the sound mix is the best at this place . These guys deserve more headlining gigs. But go see them wherever they are!

Just to be clear , FenixDion is a 5 star band, this show gets 4 stars because of what I think were venue issues. These guys are SO talented! They did seem a bit rushed, I think there was miscommunication about the schedule... and the sound quality at the venue was OK but not up to the level of 7th St Entry, They didn't even have the full band there for this show, but they still rocked hard.
