Mica Paris Biography
Mica Paris (born Michelle Wallen on April 27, 1969 in London, England) is an English singer. She began singing in church at an early age and then went on to become a session singer at the age of 15, for bands such as Hollywood Beyond and Shakatak.
In 1988, she released her most successful single, My One Temptation, which peaked at #7. In the continuing years she went on to release many more singles and albums. She currently has her own show on BBC Radio 2, called Soul Sessions. She also competed in the ITV singing competition Hit Me Baby One More Time.
On February 14th 2001, Mica lost her brother to a shooting and has since campaigned against gun crime in the UK.
During January 2006, Mica appeared in the 4 part BBC TV series The Sound of Musicals. In April 2006, it was announced that she and model Lisa Butcher, were to take over from Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine, to be the new co-presenters of the long running BBC TV series What Not to Wear.
Paris also performed alongside Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, on the evenings of 30 May and 31 May 2006 at the Royal Albert Hall, singing The Great Gig in the Sky.
In the autumn of 2006, Paris took part in Strictly Come Dancing where she danced with Ian Waite. She was the second celebrity to be knocked out of the competition.
