Carmody's sound harks back to the lyrical magic of songstresses from the 70s, blending dreamy folk with the zeitgeist electronica of today. Recently crowned ?South London?s electronic soul queen? by Notion magazine and reaching tens of millions of streams, Carmody has sold out shows in the UK and Europe, captivating audiences with her spell-binding vocals and lyrical prowess. Her song 'Paradise' featured in the hit Netflix series 'Heartstopper' in 2023.
Alton Arts Festival are delighted that Carmody will be performing an intimate set in our favourite bookshop, Goldfinch books.

Carmody Biography
London-based songwriter CARMODY weaves her candid lyrics of love and heartbreak into sparse electronic-soul earworms, emerging - with over 24 million streams to date - from the same vibrant South London DIY scene as TOM MISCH, LOYLE CARNER, JORDAN RAKEI, LAURA MISCH and ALFA MIST. Fresh from three phenomenal London headline shows this year, opening for Tom Misch at Somerset House and playing a storming set at Lovebox Festival - and with support from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Majestic Casual and Mahogany - CARMODY is an artist to keep a close eye on in 2018.
