About this concert
RANDY ROGERS BAND HEADLINING 2023 KERRVILLE’S 4th ON THE RIVER FESTIVAL WITH OPENING ACTS: LOS TEXMANIACS + FLACO JIMENEZ, ALLIE COLLEEN, and DAWN & HAWKES Kerrville’s 4th on the River has become the highest attended FREE concert in the state of Texas, celebrating American Independence. Since 2010, event organizers have worked to create a family-friendly, hometown, 4th of July celebration with the largest fireworks display in the Hill Country as the finale! This year we are making Kerrville’s 4th on the River bigger and better than ever before. Last year alone, this event brought in 17,000 people to Louise Hays Park. With its popularity growing, we have made plans to expand not only the festival grounds, but also our talent, vendors, operating hours, VIP experience and more. We have been fortunate to gain so much momentum and support for this free community event and cannot wait to see its continued growth this coming year. New to the event this year, we are introducing a VIP AREA, exclusive to our sponsors. This space will provide a shaded tent, private air-conditioned restrooms, a lounge, partitioned lawn space and a liquor bar. Additionally, sponsors will gain access to the Arcadia Live On Deck 4th of July event, overlooking the festivities. This year we are also introducing a new food court for food trucks and a shaded tent with tables and chairs to enjoy your meal in the shade. We will also provide a shaded “Kid’s Zone” with fun activities for your little ones. Show up early to snag your spot close to the stage, and make sure to bring cash for the beer tents (food vendors will accept both cash and card). Your own lawn chairs and coolers are welcome, but no outside alcoholic beverages, tents/canopies or dogs are allowed.

Flaco Jiménez Biography

Flaco Jiménez (born March 11, 1939) is a Tejano music legend from San Antonio, Texas. Jiménez's father, Santiago Jimenez Sr. was a pioneer of conjunto music. He plays the accordion. By the time he was seven years old, Flaco was performing with his father. He began recording at fifteen, as a member of Los Caporales. He played in the San Antonio area for several years, and then began working with Douglas Sahm in the 1960s. Sahm, better known as the founding member of the Sir Douglas Quintet, played with Jimenez for some time. Flaco then went on to New York City and worked with Dr. John, David Lindley, Peter Rowan, Ry Cooder and Bob Dylan. He appeared on Cooder's innovative world music album Chicken Skin Music. This led to greater awareness of his music outside America and after touring Europe with Ry Cooder he returned to tour with his own band, and on a joint bill with Peter Rowan.
