Rudy Parris Biography
Rudy Parris singer/songwriter from Central California's San Joaquin Valley. Parris is influenced by the iconic Bakersfield sound, and was honored to play a longstanding residency alongside country legend Buck Owens at his Crystal Palace until his death in 2006. In January of 2019, Rudy was asked to return to front Buck Owens famed Buckaroos at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield CA. He was also asked to perform for the induction of Merle Haggard to the Bakersfield Country Music Hall of Fame. Rudy is a multi-instrumentalist and producer. Rudy is a multi-instrumentalist and producer he also toured as lead guitarist for Hank Williams lll.
Rudy is probably most well known for his appearances on Season 3 of NBC's The Voice, where he was featured to over 190 million viewers. He was a member of Team Blake Shelton and was featured in that season's live finale with a guitar and vocal performance on "Rock and Roll All Night." Rudy's first (The Voice) single, a cover of The Police’s “Every Breath You Take,” went to number 13 in the iTunes Rock chart.
Rudy was signed by Warrior Records and recorded his debut album, “Makin' My Way,” at Hollywood’s Capitol Records in “Studio B” (the same room where both Owens and Merle Haggard recorded their many hits). The album featured many guests including Hank Williams III, Little Joe (Little Joe Y La Familia) Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam) Pat Vegas (Redbone) and actor Michael Madsen.
As a songwriter, Rudy has written songs with such notables as Larry Weiss, Richard Fagan, Dennis Knutson, Rayfe Van Hoy, Billy Burnette and Monty Byrom. Not just a country artist, Rudy is well versed in all forms of music.
