Alesha Biography
Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978, in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England) is an English singer and dancer, and former member of Mis-Teeq.
Dixon has spent the last year and a half preparing her debut album, Fired Up, for release. The album will feature collaborations with Richard X, Xenomania, Johnny Douglas, Estelle, and Paul Eppe.
Dixon released her debut single "Lipstick" in August 2006. "Lipstick" charted at a #14 in the UK. Her follow-up, "Knockdown" was produced by Xenomania, but failed to reach the top 40 (it reached #45 in the UK).
On November 6, 2006, Dixon announced that she had left Polydor Records to explore labels that will give her better promotional statistics. Polydor Records is willing to support her regardless of the fact of her departure, and even gave Dixon full rights to her unreleased debut album, Fired Up. It is now expected to be released in Spring 2007 on a new record label.
