Since forming in 1996, Kick the Cat has been wowing audiences with their high energy shows. Their compositions are grounded in the traditions of jazz, rock, and funk and feature complex harmony, odd time signatures, and extended improvisations. The group's spontaneity and uncanny communication make each of their live performances a unique adventure in interactive music-making. Dan Bitney works within avant-garde electronic, rock and improvisational groups, most notably Tortoise, Isotope 217 and Spectralina. LeRoy Bach is a Grammy-winning artist, former member of Wilco, and former member of the Black Monks of Mississippi with Theaster Gates. With their Roland 303 bass monster, Dan and LeRoy perform rockin, swingin, catchy tunes, backed up with plentiful improvisations.
