(More TBC) Lost Colours LIVE (Solo Electronic Show) If you don't know Lost Colours, we make huge cinematic and Psychedelic infused electronic music, usually played with a live bad, on this eve epxect something different, think, chemical brothers/orbital/Jon Hopkins. The album has been remixed for a set suitable for any rave, expect pounding electronic beats and euphoric synth lines. James Orvis LIVE (Balter Records / La Divina Records) James Orvis is my favourite artist to play with us live, his music is quite different from Lost Colours but it's a show I'd love all our fans to see as it's off the scale! James is an electronic artist from Hull. Making hypnotic & melodic dance music inspired by the likes of Kiasmos & Stephan Bodzin. With recognition from emerging talent programs, BBC Introducing & Bands in Town Big Break, James is beginning to share his sound with the world. His first single on underground dance label La Divina, reached number 2 in the Beatport charts. Only kept off the top spot by Loco Dice. Night Stories Dj set Cinematic funk. As if ‘Curtis Mayfield’ met ‘Floating Points’ at ‘J Dilla’s’ house. Music & Art from a 2-piece electronic live show. Vibrant motion graphics & iconic movie samples pay tribute to the age old art of storytelling, with music that is as much at home on the dance floor as it is on a walk in the park. This is electronic mood music to set your day to. ‘Night Stories’ is an ever evolving music and art project, featuring a carousel of interchanging guest artists. With symbolism woven into a complex tapestry of motion graphics and film, the aim is to explore and pay tribute to the great storytelling mediums of our time. Using visual art, audio samples from popular culture, featured vocalists and the occasional spoken wordplay, Night Stories sets out to entertain, educate and playfully pose questions about the many commonly shared issues of our lives. At a Live show expect an electronic performance curated on the fly, featuring ‘J Dilla’ style MPC drum play, multiple live instrument changes throughout & playful social commentary. You will hear emotive dance floor rhythms and the warm sound of the Rhodes, an organ synonymous with 70s funk and soul, alongside synthesisers and Movie samples. The production style is heavily influenced by artists such as ‘St Germain’, ‘Fat Freddys Drop’ and ‘The Cinematic Orchestra’. The concept was originated by Matthew Rubrick a Lyricist, Producer and Graphic Artist from the North of England. https://soundcloud.com/nightstories Carl Higson Dj set. Based in Kendal in the Lake District, Carl Higson began DJ’ing in the early 2000’s. DJ’ing for several years on the topical beaches of South Goa in India he played long and eclectic sets from chilled out sunsets into the night. His productions are always on the deeper side of electronica from having early tracks released on Italian label Ban-Off music, to putting out his own albums and EP’s on Bandcamp and more recently having releases on Gibbon records. House music has always been his biggest love with deeper and melodic sounds influencing his mixes and productions.
