Passionate about writing and words, he began creating short stories and poems at age eleven. Marginalized, rebellious and sensitive, he uses rap as an outlet, as a means to express himself and especially, a way for him to exist. He built his notoriety in France by taking part in battles that were widely broadcast on the web and have accumulated millions of views. With four projects behind him and 50 stage appearances, YosoJi is full fledged member of the French underground rap scene. After coming to Montréal over a year ago and outing himself publicly as a trans person, he is currently busy working on a mixtape using "old school" sounds, very close to his own identity and preparing a new album that will contain sounds that are completely opposite to his universe. Leela Riddle-Merritte Artist, former camper at Rock Camp for Girls and Gender Nonconforming Youth / pour filles+ Montreal, former head of the Marianopolis Black Student Union; currently the Social Media Coordinator at DESTA Black Youth Network. Rébecca Joachim Creator of the blog From a sista, outta love. "A black girl from Montreal (Laval), giving out love to her black sistas everywhere. Just letting you know that we care, that we here. That you're enough." Patricia Petit Liang Patricia Petit Liang hosts Fatal Attraction on CJLO 1690AM, a surreal comedy talk show. • Mags
The oldest in age (born in 1992), but newest to Montreal of the two, Mags (a.k.a. PassionFroot) has carved a place in the scene as a cartoonist, but is now steadily making her way up with her music. The DMV native has always had a knack for writing songs, began working from FL Studio at the age of 11, and picked up the guitar at roughly 13. Performance being one of her true passions, Mags considers herself a full-time "heartist".
