Le Folli Arie Biography

"These are smartly constructed, hook-laden crossover tunes – sing-along fare that stays with you. In a prog climate bursting with bombast and complex wankery, sometimes a memorable song is all you need." [John Collinge - Progression Magazine]

"About "Alien's Trip" (38:24) : ...the most stunning instrumental performance that we have ever played on the Jukebox..." [The Jukebox]

"...This is unique music, kids. The range of genre that these guys cover is quite a task, and for them to do so so effortlessly really says something." [Good Tunes for Good People]

“The music is very melodic and extremely well played and produced. Highly recommended. Powerpoints: 8” [Martin Howell - Powerplay Magazine]

“..high-quality sound production, presented in magnificent digipack cover...wonderful ballads and melodic and spirited Rock and Pop songs that are born ready for being consumed by the large audiences. What count here are the talent and experience of the musicians involved in the project, who prove that a real band needs less than shocking instrumental performances and complex arrangements to come out with nice-sounding music that reunites quality, cohesiveness, originality, and emotion. Singer Simone Corazzari has a gifted voice, and takes the lead with passion and sensibility, accompanied by vigorous and contagious backing vocals…blazing solos always placed on the most intense moments of each song…keyboards are loyal companions of the vocal interludes, dressing the music in dimmed Progressive colors. The arrangements are high above the average of mainstream Rock bands...Le Folli Arie are a constant supply of surprises...I have found all songs of “Le Folli Arie” really worthy.” [Progressive Rock & Progressive Metal E-Zine]

“It’s really quite an effective and surprising album. I don’t think that it really sounds like anyone else, more than a little here or there. That’s high praise, really.” [G.W.Hill - Music Street Journal]

Le Folli Arie become a reality in 2012. The band is made of four musicians living in Milan that have a huge live experience. They all have worked in various musical projects and share a common love for music from the 70's (Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, PFM, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Area,...). They have also been influenced by grunge, pop, latin, funk, jazz, heavy metal. The clash and melt of all these musical influences gave birth to Le Folli Arie's unique style.

The process of making the band sound whole and unique required 2 years of labor-intensive work. Once you listen throughout the album you can perceive the binding that gathers the 13 tracks together. The listener is able to experience many extremely different atmospheres and emotional episodes and to appreciate a deep sense of coherence throughout the entire listening experience.
That's why defining Le Folli Arie's style is not a simple task: it could be prog music dressed as pop or the exact opposite.

In a world dominated by media where the key word is appearance, Le Folli Arie take a brave and anacronistic choice: you will be able to see them only during their live shows.
There will be no official photo shooting sessions, they will not appear neither in their video clips nor on their cd booklet, promotional posters and so on... They would rather release written interviews or be interviewed on the phone whenever that is feasible.
The utopic point behind this choice is to communicate with their fans through their artistic means only avoiding any other interference as much as possible.
There will be no void in the visual compartment though. Matteo Compagnoni, (www.facebook.com/MatCompArt) already responsible for the CD artwork, will tell Le Folli Arie world, through his surreal and visionary, evocative and disturbing drawings.

Le Folli Arie, Simone Corazzari (lead vocals, guitars, author and producer), Massimiliano Masciari (bass and steel drum), Francesco Meles (drums and percussions) and Marco Antonio Cerioli (keyboards and vocals) trusted the mixing and mastering of their album with Lorenzo Cazzaniga, one of the best italian producer (Claudio Baglioni, Lucio Dalla, Fabrizio De André, Ray Charles, Sting, Mina, Pfm, Pooh, Vasco Rossi,...). Lorenzo is the last and most precious piece of the complex puzzle which is Le Folli Arie's sound. (here you can find CD credits: www.lefolliarie.com/doc/credits.pdf).
Making their own way through echoes of Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Porcupine Tree, Lucio Battisti, PFM (and many more...) Le Folli Arie's first work is a true musical voyage you could easily get lost into, that gently flows with no discrepancies; sounding almost 'concept'!

Le Folli Arie is on the run!

"The music itself is something that leads to the fact that Le Folli Arie rock the world with their new release... This is so much more than a indie contemporary rock band from Italy. Their single It’s Not Easy is a terrific introduction to the crisp songwriting and instrumentation while revealing a depth to the material that is beyond the surface level.[...]" [CMUSE]

"...Nonetheless, the rest of the world has its own share of great musicians, and they have certainly kept up with their English and American counterparts. Le Folli Arie, a new group out of Milan, are proving that Italy has what it takes to attract a global listening base..." [The Appetizer Radio Show Blog]

“...we find the very diverse melodic pop/progressive band LE FOLLI ARIE, who have a new staggering thirteen track self-titled CD out now that runs in at just over fifty minutes long and has been getting lots of constructive feedback from the press... Songs such as the stunning “It's Not Easy”, flow with melodic velvetiness, coupled with charming lyrics almost conceptual, the playing and vocals are wonderful, in a small way reminiscent me of Procul Harum...is a powerful rich work.” [Nick Baldrian - Fireworks Magazine]

“...music is as vibrant and enthralling as the majority of this record proves to be...very pleasant listening” [The Rocker]
