Promenade について

In the spring of 1992, Steve Sauer (guitar) and Scott Cunningham (vocals, bass) first met and began writing music together. Through the summer, an early incarnation of Promenade was founded and went on to release the Dave album, Single, and the full length, Francis Coming Home (out of print and gladly forgotten).

With songwriting surging, experimentation unfolding and long-time friend Jason DeBruer (drums) joining the ranks in the summer of ’97, the band was complete and had truly found their sound. Unafraid, unconventional and unaware of the road ahead…

The well received and highly acclaimed Save the Radio (2000) earned the band an Album of the Year nomination and a Best Indie Band win with CityBeat Magazine. Promenade played showcases in NXNE, toured regionally, and shared the stage with Gin Blossoms, Superdrag, Sponge, Nada Surf, Tahiti 80 and more. Their music was featured on MTV’s “Undressed” series, as well as in the independent, full-length film, Dreamcatcher.

Once a development-deal-gone-wrong had dissolved, Part One was finally released in 2003, again earning the band an Album of the Year nomination. The band continued to push, play and press onward with new material and performances. But the ship lost some steam in 2004 when DeBruer announced his departure. Determined to get a final batch of songs to tape, the band recorded their swansong Part Two: Goodness Ends, releasing the record at their final performance in July of 2005.
