Let’s Eat Grandma are my favourite band named after a punctuation joke! The Norwich-based duo Jenny Hollingworth and Rosa Walton make up Let's Eat Grandma, a psych-pop band that offers balms for the soul in the form of bubblegum pop. LEG hit the stage tonight at the Cluny for an incredibly intimate tour of their latest album, 'Two Ribbons.' The album is an eccentric culmination of synth-driven pop sounds explored on their prior album, ‘I'm All Ears’ but this time with more organic instrumentation—the result is a culmination of classic and modern elements with a timeless pop sound. The duo played many new tracks like 'Give Me A Reason,' 'I Really Want To Stay At Your House,' 'Levitation' and 'Watching You Go.' As well as plenty of my favourites like 'Hot Pink,' 'Falling Into Me' and 'Deep Six Textbook.' My favourite moment was when LEG ended the show with their classic hit, 'Donnie Darko,' Jenny jumped to the floor and actually posed for me–I've never been THAT to an artist before, it was so cool! Overall, it was an absolutely spectacular night, the energy was electric and confirmed my love for Let's Eat Grandma tenfold!
