Arthur Hnatek (pronounced Na-tek), drummer/composer/electronica artist, born in 1990, is a Swiss contemporary musician who is constantly expanding his musical landscape at the forefront of the fusion between electronic music culture and highly technical drumming.
He is a recipient of the prestigious Swiss Music Prize in 2022.

Active as an electronica artist, Arthur performs and produces live solo-electronic music exploring the boundaries between improvisation and functional club music with his drums and modular synths. Critically acclaimed internationally, his music has been heard on BBC6 Music as well in clubs around the world.
He is also active as a composer for his jazz project, the “Arthur Hnatek Trio”. Their debut album STATIC was released in 2021 on London label Whirlwind Recordings.

After graduating from “The New School for Contemporary Music” in New York City, Arthur has traveled the world drumming with Nonesuch and ECM recording pianist Tigran Hamasyan or part of the Erik Truffaz Quartet. These experiences led him to develop his distinctive drumming style, which combines minimal repetitive music with a virtuoso jazz touch.

He lives in Zürich, Switzerland.
