Saw Protomartyr in London Islington a few days ago. That was great but Leicester was on another level. Awesome venue and the sound was perfection. It was one of those times when everything comes together. Even the band knew it. New stuff sounds great, can't wait for it to come out. One of those gigs you'll never forget. Incredible.

What a night. Firstly, Rattle mesmerised us with their dual drumming and dreamy vocals before Traams took to the stage and hit us with some of the best psych rock I've ever seen pouring molasses like bass guitar into my ears. Not to mention Joe Casey wondering onto the stage to belt out some lyrics before drifting back off to backstage like it was nothing. Then Protomartyr took to absolutely belting the sell out crowd with their endless selection of brilliant songs (which unfortunately had to end at some point). Kelley Deal adding that beautiful vocal element and accompanying guitar action. Really nice to see Rattle for the first time, excellent duo. Traams I already knew I'd like and listened to but first time seeing live, wow. Would see a show in their own right. But Protomartyr, never ever ever cease to amaze me. My favourite band and get better every single time I see them. Not only their music, but the people they're just a humble 'normal' bunch of musicians making people happy. What's not to love. Thank you Protomartyr.

Excellent gig, a good selection of tunes from the full catalogue including Blues Festival (a personal favourite) with the added bonus of indie legend Kelley Deal on synth/guitar/backing vocals too!

Best show I’ve seen in a while. Opening band Negative Scanner from Chicago blew me away.

I love protomartyr even more though I’ve never been to such a high energy show that no one moshed at.

I came to see Preoccupations this night. They were very good, but Protomartyr crushed it. I had never heard of them or seen them before. Each band member totally brought it. If I were to describe their sound, I would say...”Protomartyr puts the punk into post-punk in a Detroit kind of way.” (Mosh pit included) It was a very good pairing of the two bands. I hope they do more shows together.

Incredible. Sonically mesmerizing. The band is tight, the songs are the best noise rock has to offer. The frontman has unique charisma and owns the stage. Everyone was blown away. Kudos to Johny Brendas for bringing them here and for great sound as always. My fave place to see a show.
