Rob Dread Vocalist/Keyboardist and international recording artist (Washitaw 215/93) introduced live reggae music to Lexington, KY in the early 90’s and was the guiding light behind the massive success of the Atomic Cafe’s regular live reggae performances. He has also performed at every venue east of the Mississippi to sell out events regularly with various bands that include: The KMA (REN Records), Dub Enforcement Agency (Bigg Spliff Productions), Dem Reggae Bon, Ras Bonghi All Stars, The Skankland Allstars, Identity/Nusonics (Island Records) to name a few and has shared the stage with such artist as Gregory Issacs, Third World, The Wailers, Burning Spear, The Itals, Culture, Phil Collins, KRS-1, Bobby Blue Bland, Morris Day and the Time, The GAP Band, The Stylistics George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars and many, many more. Chad Gravitt AKA The Beard, also known as the most sought after drummer in the region is known for his impeccable drumming in various styles and genres of music. A few of the bands I’m sure you’ve heard of include: The G-Funk All-Stars, Groovezilla (MTV Road Rules, Mausoleum Records), The KMA, Dub Enforcement Agency, HR (bad brains), Face the Day, and Beautiful to name a few. His sponsorships include: Pork Pie Percussion, Vater drumsticks, Aquarian Drumheads, Bosphorus cymbals and Big Fat Snare Drums. Ronnie Brown best known as Dub Mystic is the founder of this unit. AKA MC Choplogic while working the electronic circuit, he’s also the surf guitarist for The Invisible Imposters, has studied hand percussion under Olatunji and is a part of The Left Wing String Band. Although his roots are planted in the bluegrass he is highly influenced by his upbringing in France. Ronnie drops dub bass like nobody’s business, quite similar to 4.4 earthquake. Empress Kisha J. hails from the Island of Grenada by way of Brooklyn, NY and brings the sounds of steel pans and percussions. The mistress has graced the stage alongside: Anglican High School Steel Orchestra (Grenada), Angel Harps both junior and senior bands (Grenada), Crossfire Steel Orchestra (Brooklyn) and Steelband Vibration (Brooklyn). She will awaken your sleeping spirit with her hypnotic vibrations. Max B. is coming all the way from Costa Rica to bring you the sound of his wailing soul channeled through the conduit that is his guitar.
