Even as We Speak

Originating in Sydney in 1986, Even As We Speak is an established band within the indie pop sub-genre. They were on Sydney's Phantom records in the late 80's. The legendary John Peel championed them on his BBC radio programme which was the most influential new music program of the era.

The band then signed to Bristol's Sarah Records, since nominated by the NME as the second best independent label of all time. In the late eighties to early nineties the band commuted between Sydney and the UK, steadily building their reputation as purveyors of indie pop magic.

They quit in 1993 but slowly reformed in 2014 due to unabated interest. Their back catalogue is constantly being reissued on all formats and they regularly release new material. Their fanbase continues to grow and bring in converts of all ages.
