Formed in 2017, Suck da Head is much more than just a brass band—it’s a “king-size” ensemble of ten musicians that transforms Louisiana’s musical heritage into a funk-infused, organic, and resolutely contemporary sound. While their name—a reference to the Cajun art of eating crawfish (“Pinch the tail and suck the head”)—evokes a way of life rooted in the enjoyment of the moment, their music is a sonic explosion.
From performing standards, Suck da Head has moved on to original, collective creation, where each member brings their own sensibility. Under the emblem of their festive shrimp, they shape the raw energy of the street, generating a physical and cathartic communion with the audience.
