Rone について

Rone
Throughout his musical career, which began in 2007, few things have remained as constant as Rone’s desire to explore new territories.
Five studio albums and as many solo tours have taken him around the world, without the French electronic composer and producer ever ceasing to venture into new artistic landscapes. The album Room With A View (2020) marked an opportunity for Rone to collaborate with dance. The eponymous stage production, co-written with the collective (LA)HORDE and performed by the Ballet national de Marseille, was staged more than 50 times across New York, Kyoto, Paris, and Venice. More recently, Rone also collaborated with choreographer Angelin Preljocaj as part of the Osaka 2025 World Expo.
His film scores have been awarded a César and a Cannes Soundtrack Award, the result of collaborations with directors such as Jacques Audiard, Xavier Giannoli, Frédéric Farrucci, and Spike Jonze. The musician, who graduated in cinema from the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, has, in short, never lost his love for the seventh art.
His approach to symphonic orchestration alongside arranger Romain Allender (with the Orchestre National de Lyon or the London Contemporary Orchestra) gave rise to the album and concert tour L(oo)ping.
Rone’s most recent album, Megaptera, was composed at sea during a scientific expedition aimed at understanding the unusual reactions his music appeared to provoke in dolphins and whales. The project was inspired by a series of viral videos showing sailors playing Rone’s music in open waters, with cetaceans seemingly drawn toward the sound. The album is accompanied by the documentary film The Whale and the Musician, directed by Valentin Paoli, which chronicles the creation of the record within this singular and extraordinary setting.
