South For Winter

A magical evening. Superb landscape, fantastic stylish venue…. great music from a very engaging trio. A night to remember during our NZ holiday.

This is the second time we've been to see these guys live (2024 in Ruby Bay Store and 2025 in Little Andromeda theatre - ChCh). The intimacy of those settings means that there is a very direct connection between band and audience. They are just amazing performers - all 3 - and their individual talents blend into one extraordinary fusion of music. I totally recommend them as a must see live act if you ever get the chance

Well, I was delighted! I would have danced the whole time, had there been the room! Plus it was my first big test with concussion issues, to see how I'd go. Worth it to treat my parents for the 59th anniversary. Perfect! Family friendly. Fun! Skilled!!!!!!! My goodness, vocals, all music genre styles , instruments (loved the drum) and tight team....... just fabulous. All i want to do is go see them again with my husband! Hope they come to balclutha next March he he!!!!! 🙏💞 i would go to timaru this year if we could. A new fan 😂🙃😊🫠❣️

So good. Would go again!

First of all it wasn’t at the Ruby Bay Joinery but at the Ruby Bay Store! It was a great concert and all 6 of us who attended were impressed by the groups talent.

Wow, wow and wow, gosh this trio are b****y awesome. Great songs, great melodies, great musicians, great banter.....what is not to love about 'South For The Winter'. Thank you Sarah for opening up your venue once again, you can b*t that we will be back for the next gig.

We so enjoyed "South for Winter a few months ago - in New Zealand...KatiKati. Warm chatty intros and spell binding lyrics and accomps.. Hoping my Denver friends can get to see S for W in Fort Collins. also. chris Ingram.

A rollicking great time was had by all! The musicality and range is pretty fantastic. It's like four shows in one. But the best part was the wonderful charisma these two (and sometime three) have. The entertainment is in the storytelling between the songs and in the lyrics. The show was so engaging and fun. They are excellent musicians and have oodles of talent and experience to back up their songwriting and live performing. Treat yourself if these guys are in town and go see them.

Never have I ever experienced anything like SfW in such an intimate setting. This is the perfect way to see this trio, but I can’t imagine any experience is less than perfect.

Incredibly talented musicians. Their songs were unique and beautifully performed. The venue, Duncan Showroom, was inviting, cozy and warm, as was its owner, Longevity John. We hope South For Winter returns as we will would love to hear them again.

Three young people with old souls whose harmony and musical talent was on full display in the cozy Hayloft. They are on my radar for coming shows near Maine.

South For Winter was great; different, but with top-notch musicianship and great vocals. What was lacking was the venue and the sound mix/system. The room is all hard surfaces, which does not make for great acoustics. Too many reflective surfaces muddied up the sound. The sound board was manned by volunteers from the venue who allowed the vocals to get lost behind the instruments. A tough place to do a good sound mix, certainly, but still a little disappointing on that end.
