Before LOTTE even appeared, the venue’s security concept provided the first entertainment. A heavy metal barrier separated the stage from a completely peaceful audience, as though the organisers expected an attack by wild LOTTE ultras. Then I tried to photograph the setlist taped to the stage. A staff member immediately stopped me. “Why do you want to photograph it?” Perhaps to remember which songs were played. Perhaps for a concert review. Or perhaps titles such as “Mein Baby,” “Jenny” and “Double Cheesy Nachos” were classified information. The man guarded the paper like a state secret—until LOTTE revealed the entire running order by actually playing the concert. Fortunately, the show itself was very enjoyable. LOTTE sounded warmer and more powerful live than on record, connected naturally with the audience and was supported by an excellent band that deserved slightly more freedom. Her lyrics may not require future university seminars, but she performed them with genuine emotion. It was a charming, energetic evening—and Zürich remained safe. The barrier held, nobody stormed the stage, and the leaked setlist caused no diplomatic crisis.
