The Reverse について

The Reverse are an enigmatic indie folk/rock four-piece band, with a sound ranging from acoustic guitars and harmonicas with heartfelt stories of optimism, to bluesy electric guitars and back-alley tales of betrayal. The Reverse have quickly become regarded as one of the most promising and prolific acts to emerge from the Irish music scene in recent years. The Reverse originally cut their live performance and songwriting teeth as an acoustic duo, formed in 2009, and comprised of singer/songwriters Richard O'Gorman and Sean McKeown. Having played throughout pubs and venues nationwide for a year and a slot at Indiependence festival in 2010, they decided to expand their sound. The addition of bassist Robert Goode and drummer Ian Murphy meant Richie and Sean could take their already diverse songwriting skills into whole new genres. Keeping the formula of two frontmen, the band launched into writing and recording new material. Musically, the guys take inspiration from a very wide array of sounds. Richie, who's poetic, introspective lyrics and sweet singing voice, reminiscent of Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney, tie in well with Sean’s grandiose approach to performance, inspired by the likes of Kings Of Leon and Foo Fighters. The fresh and inventive drumming of Ian Murphy and the melodic, ensnaring bass playing of Robert Goode top it off, to provide the truly unique and individual sound of The Reverse. In the time that has passed since the Cork based four-piece was established, they have been gigging extensively around Ireland and the U.K., singed a management deal, were heavily booked for the 2012 festival circuit, have performed numerous guest support slots, played the Share A Dream concert in the RDS in Dublin, and also released their debut single “Jack & Jill” in July, which subsequently charted at No. 3 in the iTunes singer/songwriter charts. They also sang on the charity single ‘Tiny Dancer’ (no. 1 in the Irish charts), along with a string of Irish headline artists including Paddy Casey, Mary Black, Declan O’Rourke, John Spillane, Mundy, Tom Dunne, The Riptide Movement, Bipolar Empire, Liam Ó’Maonlaí, and lots more, and also performed this single live on the Late Late Show on RTE1. The Reverse are definitely a band to watch out for in 2013, as this promising young band quickly garner more and more attention both at home and abroad.
