Bomb the Music Industry! について
Bomb The Music Industry! is a musical collective originally from Long Island, New York, and now featuring members from California, New Hampshire, Michigan, and, of course, New York. They write, produce, record, and distribute all of their music. The head of the project is Jeff Rosenstock, a multi-instrumentalist who, along with other participants in Bomb The Music Industry!, was also a member of The Arrogant Sons of Bitches. They have gained notoriety for their DIY punk ethic, embodied by actions such as distributing four albums' worth of material for free on their site, and offering free stencil/paint designs for fans who bring blank shirts to shows. They are known for having no set performers, and the lineup of musicians on a tour will change depending on what area of the country the band is passing through. Notable contributers include Dan Potthast of MU330 and The Stitch Up and Rick Johnson of The Rick Johnson Rock and Roll Machine and Mustard Plug
In the summer of 2006, Bomb The Music Industry! released the album, Goodbye Cool World!(the working title was: clap your hands say shut the fuck up), through the label Quote Unquote Records. Quote Unquote Records has been called "The world's first donation based record label". Therefore, like all other albums on the label, Goodbye Cool World! is available free for download with a suggested donation.
Get Warmer was released July 31st on Quote Unquote Records, marking their 4th free album. Get Warmer is the first BtMI! album recorded with a live band and the first CD release of the collective. The album was also released as a CD/Picture Disc LP on Asian Man Records.
