Dead and Divine について
DEAD AND DIVINE, a Metal/Hardcore five-piece rock ensemble out of Southern Ontario, Canada has been making an uproar across their homeland since their 2005 debut release "What Really Happened At Lover's Lane" on Verona Records;(a label created by Shane Told of Silverstein fame, and the band themselves) One would think a light would be dimmed on their experience and caliber, but rest assured these "boys" are far from inexperienced.
Their initial full length record beat all expectations when in its first week alone it sold nearly 1000 copies nationwide, landing them a spot on the Canadian Billboard Top 200. This was a huge accomplishment for the group since their original formation in 2003. In addition they've done extremely well on their own, selling more than 4000 copies.. The band then set off on an independently booked coast to coast Canadian headlining tour that following summer, attacking as many cities as they could, and leaving a huge impression on everyone who saw them perform.
Growing interest in the bands live performance had landed them spots sharing the stage with such acts as: Silverstein, Protest The Hero, Misery Signals, Cancer Bats, August Burns Red, Bleeding Through, Hopesfall, Darkest Hour, The Spill Canvas, Ill Scarlett and Moneen.
That Fall, the band took time off touring to begin work on their upcoming full length. Locking themselves in their jamspace for hours on end, they initiated the writing process, creating, and fine tuning new tracks for their sophomore record. Following their writing stint, Dead and Divine set out with several more self-booked headlining tours including a Winter tour throughout Ontario during the month of January, a Feb-March East coast tour, and two more full Canadian tours spanning from April to August of 2007. Finally taking some time off, the band spent 5 days at Drive Studios with producer Steve Rizun, completing pre-production for six songs on their upcoming full-length.
The group has been tirelessly working on furthering their band as a whole, taking bigger steps, more risks and spending more time on polishing their music without fear of experimentation; All while growing as not only a band, but as musicians. Through their expansive Canadian touring, Dead and Divine have grown to love not only their home country, but their fans as well. Although their extensive touring of Canada may have been more than successful, it's their desire to tour the US and move beyond Canadian soil that leaves them craving more.
DEAD AND DIVINE demonstrates that this isn't a fad nor a trend, but a lifestyle, and these young Canadian boys are determined to take over...and theres no sign of slowing down.
