AJ Christou has been fascinated by the power of the drum for ten years, and has now honed his own vital and visceral sound. It has made him one of the most exciting house artists of the day, has lead to him releasing on The Martinez Brothers’s influential Cuttin Headz label and playing at places like Sankeys and The Warehouse Project as well as running his own label Celesta. An obsessive music collector and admirer of film scores since youth, his Greek roots have brought wider cultural reference points to his output. He knows how to get the most out of his machines and come up with fresh new perspectives each and every time. As a dexterous vinyl and digital DJ who likes to keep himself and his crowd guessing, AJ Christou usually plays four decks on Traktor so he can mix, drop acapellas and FX and layer percussion he has produced himself into the mix.
