Sunday evening was spent watching the wonderful Bella Gaffney and Kate Griffin Music play a sublime selection of Americana themed music at Temperance. Opening the evening Kate, of Mishra and Magpies fame delighted the audience with some intriguing Banjo and Guitar including innovative use of a foot operated Bass Synth - unusual, but very pleasant sound. Bella then played 2 sets of intricate Banjo and Guitar interspersed by her endearing Yorkshire humour. Kate joined her for some magical collaborations to finish off the evening for a friendly and enthusiastic crowd.

Bella was once again a brilliant singer, banjo and guitar player, joke teller and entertainer. A must see whenever in town. Folk music without getting dull or morbid. What's there not to like. Thank you Bella. And the venue is very intimate and weird for a gig. Well worth it.

Bella is a very talented singer, songwriter, guitar and banjo player. She's a brilliant musician, has a very powerful yet soulful voice and a wonderful personality. I enjoy seeing her as a solo artist and also in The Magpies. One of the things I love about her is her sense of humour, which she uses to the max whilst ad libbing between songs.
