Loved the show. Pat was fantastic as always. Another virtuoso performance. The talking was awesome. To think none of this would have happened if his older brother hadn’t turned him on to Miles Davis … I thought he said “Miles In The Sky” but I forget already. And the recent baritone guitar stuff would never have happened without the instrument maker and country music guy down the street in Lees Summit, MO! Crazy stuff. The music was just great, all the guitars, the 42 stringer, the orchestion. The dude is alone, unique in the world. We are so fortunate. Brilliant.

My first time at the Freight and Salvage, very nice for sure. This was about my fifth time seeing Pat Metheny, I’m a major fan, this show was a bit more subdued than other shows I’ve attended, of course being that it was a solo performance understandably so. There’s no doubt he is a master at his art and I have the utmost appreciation for that talent, there was one tune that he performed that I seriously thought that he had lost his mind right there on stage, but it was an expression from him that I’ve never heard, couldn’t say that it was a fav. Did really enjoy the show as it was.

I (we - 8 of us) have never seen a show so moving and stellar in years, probably decades. We were lucky enough to get front row seats dead center, we could see everything and that added to the thrill. There is a sound that is completely "Pat Metheny" you know it straight out of the box. So refreshing, passionate and heartfelt. I don't want to spoil the show for others, so I won't say much more than find your own passion by going to the "Dream Box" show if you can. You will want to be able to say that you were there for your children's children.

I have been a fan of Pat Metheny since I first heard his music in summer of 1978. He has and always has been as incredibly-gifted musician. At his Lobero Theater concert on October 30, 2023, I sat in the 5th row, left side and could see and hear all that Pat had to offer. Once again, his playing was absolutely stellar! I have seen Pat play live six times over the years, playing within different contexts, but always displaying his exceptional abilities and creativity. I wish I could meet him and chat at least once before my days on this earth are finished.

He is so masterful, and so in Love ❤️ with his craft that he amazes us every time with his creativity! Please keep me informed when he’s back in Southern California! I would love ❤️ to be at every venue! I use to be able to do that but due to an injury I wasn’t able to this year! I’ve been following Pat since the early eighties and have been privileged to see him every time he’s been out here and in a few other states! I met him at that time when he had the core group and a host of others like Nando Lauria, Mark Ledford, Antonio, etc! He had a woman that was stalking him at the time and when he learned that I worked in mental health we tried to design a plan of action! Very friendly and down to earth person. Thanks for keeping me informed!

It was a show only Pat could put on. I was fortunate to have a 1st row seat center that turned out to about 12 feet from Pat. It was just him and for the first time ever, he talked between songs and sets. I've been following him for 46 yrs, have seen him in concert close to 30 times and he spoke more last night than ALL those shows put together. So it was like having Pat in my living room, playing and enlightening me for 2+ hours. Can it GET any better than that? I recently watched him do a Rick Beato show on YouTube and it was sooooooooo interesting and this was sort of a continuance of that interview, albeit a more in-depth conversation. My guess is Pat knows as much about chord structure and phrasing as any other living musician. His knowledge is just astounding and it comes across when you REALLY listen to his music. He talked about how he started out playing guitar and that conversation slowly morphed during the rest of the evening into how and why he played and plays different types of guitars and the different strings he's uses on them to get a particular sound. And of course, his playing was superb! And when I started out here saying it was a show only Pat could put on, it was mainly because he brought out some of the Orchestrion with him for the last 1/2 hour and he's the only musician I've ever seen use something like this. So imaginative!! What I've always said sets him apart from the gazillion other guitar players (he has NEVER done 2 albums that sound the same) his entire career, is he has been never-ending in using his imagination to discover what his instrument is capable of and he has never been satisfied with the status-quo of his playing abilities as he goes to places he's never been before musically, determined to conquer them and then move on to the next adventure. On a side note....he played Wichita Lineman that I think it was a nod to Glen Campbell considering he was in AZ. Thank you for a wonderful evening to always remember, Pat!

I had read an online concert review before Pat Metheney’s Memphis show. The review said the music was good but Metheny didn’t say anything to the crowd. That’s what I expected but got the exact opposite. Metheny walked on stage and immediately starting talking about his music, friends and family in a very engaging way. A few minutes into it he said he had spoken more tonight than he ever spoken. Ever! It was great to hear the music and the stories behind them. Come back again soon Pat Metheny¡ 34 years between visits is way too long. Oh, next time if you can book the Cannon Center. Better acoustics for a master musician!

Pat Metheny is simply the greatest living guitarist/jazz stylist I can imagine. His talent is extreme and the complexity and color of his "voicings" is striking. I've attended five live appearances of his over a 40-year period and came away every single time completely awe-struck and inspired by his dynamics. The one this time (Minglewood Hall) was a solo effort, but of course, Pat plays with enough range and expertise that he doesn't sound alone. And it was refreshing to have him share some of the details of his past and coming to the industry as he did. Pat makes having ears and a sense of rhythm a thorough treat. His performances are engaging, uplifting, unique and set the highest bar possible for the genres he occupies. I hope to hear much more from him over many years ahead. Excellent!

Old favs and fancy techniques merged into spellbinding magical solo performance. Looping used to great effect, and orchestrion made a couple of luscious appearances. Sadly not sold out, and very subdued audience. Quite a contrast from past shows in Toronto, Luxembourg and London which were always packed and always met a rapturous reception. Reflected back a bit to Pat who seemed to fade a bit near the end. Inconsiderate fan in front of us diminished our by insisting on videoing the last 4 songs despite being asked not too. Thanks, jerk!

Pat warmed up the audience with a solo on the Pikasso and then Chris Fishman on keyboards and Joe Dyson on percussion joined Pat for covers of three well-known PM classics: So May It Secretly Begin (Pat Metheny Group cover), Bright Size Live (which PM originally did with Jaco Pastorius), and Better Days Ahead (another PMG standard). From there the trio moved onto a combination of old tunes and several from the Side Eye album, 12-13 in all. Fishman and Dyson were up to the task of accompanying one of the great jazz guitarists, both in melding their talents to the tunes and with their own solos. Pat surprised us by introducing his Orchestrion later in the show. The audience was into the show, and Pat responded with two encores: the first, an acoustic medley of a half-dozen old PMG favorites, from Minuano to Last Train Home; the second, the trio performed Are You Going With Me? We got a solid two hours, an incredible performance. My only complaint was the seats at the venue itself: solid wood fold-down auditorium seats encouraged a lot of standing ovations to give my butt a break

I didn't attend the Nashua, NH show, but did attend the Beverly, MA show the night before and it blew my socks off!!!!! I'm still on a high from the powerful and magical collaboration between Pat Metheny, Joe Dyson and Chris Fishman. AMAZING!!!!!!!! I am so happy to be in the world where Pat Metheny creates and performs and showcases up and coming musicians. What a master he is. I not only LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his music but I also have a tremendous amount of respect for him as a human being. Looking forward to seeing him again June 24th at the Beacon in NYC.

Pat Metheny was absolutely phenomenal, as anticipated. I do have to give special props to James Francies and Joe Dyson for their spectacular accompaniment. These two guys alone could sell a show out at The Wortham. Francies is one of our own, as a Houston native who grew up learning piano at age 5 in his Houston Church. And his inspiration is Joe Sample, another Houston legend, having attended a Joe Sample performance at age 6. Francies has a special gift called synesthesia, which allows him to see the notes in his head in color blocks. The music just comes and flows right through him. I've watched a handful of his performances under the James Francies Trio, and I'm so amazed at his supernatural abilities on the keyboard. Where's the sheet music??? It's all in his head, that's where! Yes, Pat Metheny is a legend, and deservedly so! And he effortlessly pulled off another lifetime performance for us in Houston!

I've seen Pat Metheny 7 times, and each one has been a highlight of my live music experiences. Metheny is one of the most creative writers and players of all time, and it's incredible how each tour has a completely different sound, vibe, and creative spark to it. He is a true master of technical skill and musicality, and plays music rich with emotive force. Even if you are not a fan of traditional jazz, I highly recommend you attend one of his shows at some point. It may just change how you see music.

David - I’ve seen Pat Matheny perform 40 or 50 times since the beginning of his career, as he has come to Philadelphia many times. I had the exact impression of the mix as you did, and I was sitting at about the middle of the floor. I didn’t notice Antonio’s brushes being excessively prominent, but I really had difficulty hearing the piano and bass. The entire show was old music with one possible exception, and this disappointed me because Metheny has stated that he has five albums worth of material fully recorded and ready for release when he figures out how he’s going to do that. It would’ve been nice to hear some new material. That aside, he always puts on a great show and I enjoyed it.

Speechless… I’m utterly speechless. The music tonight in Seattle (Bremerton) was such a gift, way beyond any expectation I had, and I had high expectations, they were shattered. Pat Metheny, Antonio Sanchez, Linda May Han Oh and Gwilym Simcock are playing together at a whole new level in improvisational music, the word that kept flashing in my head was virtuoso, I am experiencing music at a level beyond, and I have heard some amazing artists. What they did tonight was so beautiful, so inspiring, virtuoso. Seriously, was that what is was like when people heard other greats of music perform in a new breakthrough level? An amazing melodic drum solo with Pat intertwining with Antonio, spontaneous duets, Pat and Linda, Pat and Gwilym, just beyond words. Pat, please release a live recording from this tour, please!! Six more shows on the west coast and then a stand in Honolulu, not to be missed, go hear it, virtuoso.

Typical Pat Metheny... Bringing brilliant music and musicianship in a world in desperate need for it. Not only one of the finest musicians of his generation, but bringing along the next great players. Most shining tonight especially Antonio Sanchez (as always) and Linda May Han Oh who was the brand new to me and a revelation... At times channeling Eberhard Weber during some of the really early music. Simcock was solid. Finally... WHERE can I get a recording of Antonio & Pat's duo?! THAT was amazing and frustratingly recognizable but just out of my recall. Thanks for a memorable fifth show for me, Pat. Bring the PMG to Portland next!!!!

As with Antonio Sanchez, I rate this concert a full 5 stars (although the 5th star won’t fill in completely). Pat Metheny is my all-time favorite musician. His creativity and rich body of work coupled with his willingness to explore across genres and technologies while maintaining what tugs the listeners’ heartstrings cements my 40-year adoration of this 20-time Grammy winner. This concert was tight & raw simultaneously. Hearing Pat’s old beloved tunes was a delight, but hearing them played with a different twist with the illustrious musicianship of Antonio Sanchez, Linda May Han Oh & Gwilym Simcock kicked it all to new heights. I’m still hanging on the ceiling.

The concert was Fantastic. I was very surprised at the variation over music genres. Themes from earlier were very beautifully composed and delivered in a new way that was completely unique, exciting and very beautiful. The band was very well-liked, sounds were good and climax was definitely the interaction between Pat and Antonio. It was very amazing. Ending with Are you going with me was the prick and I was happy that I had the opportunity to hear that particular number close to the stage. Next concert I will buy the ticket up to the stage. I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to go from DK til Barcelona for this concert ..Best Charlotte Moe
