donkeyboy について

donkeyboy
Donkeyboy is a synth-pop band hailing from Drammen, Norway, formed in 2005. The lineup features brothers Cato Sundberg (vocals, guitar) and Kent Sundberg (synth, vocals), alongside Peter Michelsen (guitar, backing vocals) and Thomas Drabløs (drums). Their music seamlessly blends elements of pop and rock, drawing inspiration from artists like Pet Shop Boys, Tom Petty, and Fleetwood Mac.
Their debut single, "Ambitions," released in 2009, dominated the Norwegian charts for 12 consecutive weeks and was later succeeded by their second single, "Sometimes," marking the first time a Norwegian artist replaced themselves at the number one spot. Both tracks were featured on their debut album, Caught in a Life, which achieved triple platinum status in Norway.
In 2011, Donkeyboy received the European Border Breakers Award, recognizing their international success. Their sophomore album, Silver Moon (2012), included the hit "City Boy," which topped charts in both Norway and Denmark. Subsequent releases like "Triggerfinger" (2013), featuring Canadian singer Kiesza, and "Crazy Something Normal" (2014) showcased their evolving sound. Their third album, Lost, was released in 2016.
Beyond their own projects, Cato and Kent Sundberg have ventured into production and songwriting through their project, Rat City. Donkeyboy's enduring presence in the Scandinavian pop scene is marked by their catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and innovative approach to synth-pop.
