It’s hard to review the Roots Picnic. There are various artists, some you like, some you don’t like, and you can discover an artist you never heard of before and become a fan. There are also other things about the event that can be improved, but overall I recommend the event. Highlights for me were Ari Lennox, Usher (who I couldn’t see as I was too far from the main stage), and a surprise appearance by Fat Joe. Pictured in my photo is a screen shot of an artist named Syd, who I never heard of, but she was pretty good.

Lineup was great, but the entire show ran 2 hours behind schedule on BOTH days. There was zero shade at the main stage and the sound system was awful.
