Paul was best with the least accompaniment from his band. His voice is remarkable for an 83 year-old singer. Ravinia is a terrible venue and the “improvements” have not helped. It is difficult to get to the park, into the park, around the park once inside.

The band was good, though Paul's voice is not as strong as it once was. Wish I had seen him when he was younger. Wished he had introduced band members. Didn't really get the whole psalms thing. Assume it was a statement about religion, but am not sure what point was being made. The guitar work was beautiful throughout the show. All of the songs were OK, but there were other songs of his I would have rather have heard. Loved that Edie showed to sing with him. A lot of the songs played I had never heard before. Maybe I'd like them more if I had listened to them as much as the songs from the Simon and Garfunkel years and Paul's earlier solo work. All that being said, he is a legend and has written and performed amazing songs in his career. I am grateful I got to see him.

With Paul's voice being so soft have the lyrics on a scene for the new so gs would be been helpful because we couldn't hear or understand most of the words in the first part of the concert. Still thankful got to be a part of the evening and for seeing this legend in person

It was sad for me to see a diminished Paul Simon. I certainly should not have expected a younger version of himself, but the first half with newer songs was almost maudlin. I imagine that reading the lyrics and listening to the music in a different space would change how I feel about the latest album. which clearly reflects the artist's conversation with his mortality. I first saw Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel at a Queens College Frat House in the early 60's. They had not yet been "discovered," and I remember thinking that they were incredible musicians. The evening was very melancholy for me.

Wow well I wish I had seen it. I've loved Paul Simon all my life, and saw his last "final" tour at Fiddler's Green. This is a considerably better venue. But man I also work for a living, and we just couldn't afford it! Even though he gave his hall last time, and had a smoking band, and I love Red Rocks. I find it REALLY disconnected that I'm being asked to review a show I didn't buy, these rich money-pants who make shows unaffordable also don't seem to know how to run a database.

So impressed how much power he can still deliver. Is he 20? No. But is he in some ways a more complex and more complete artist than ever? Yes! And even OVER 80 he still brought out the young man here and there, charming, entrancing, masterful. The band is still brilliant. The Shell is always a treat, so great setting. Only annoyance was the audience, so many people yapping on at regular volume. Then stay home, people.

It’s the first time I’ve seen Paul Simon live in concert. I’ve always loved his music and watched a number of concert clips on YouTube. My seating position wasn’t great as I was right at the top at the London Palladium but I enjoyed the concert nonetheless and had a great time. It was great to see him live. My only disappointment was is that he didn’t sing You Can Call Me Al, Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Foot and Mrs. Robinson. The first two being two of my favourite songs of his. Overall it was still a great concert.

Some special moments and always incredible to have timeless songs sung to you by the very best. The quieter, stripped back acoustic arrangement was at times too sparse. It was too quiet to sing along to the second half, which should have been where the audience came alive. Live performance of April Come She Will for the first time in decades was a breathtaking moment to be a part of!

It was amazing. I was honestly surprised to experience the intimacy created on stage with a great large group of musicians and a very large audience of a couple of thousands heads. Of course one’s voice sounds different at the age of 84 than in the early days, yet it was appropriate in the setting of intimacy.

Fantastic! Great, great band. Edie Brickell. Tons of deep cuts. Simon has aged and his voice has some vulnerability that works for his songs. I was very impressed by a great show.

Paul Simon is a living legend. To see him in person for my first time was a dream come true. He is not only an amazing musician but a poet, a singer - songwriter but a humanitarian. Wishing him a long and happy life.

At 83, he acknowledged that most all of his songs are old, and Edie Brickell stepped in on three (or four, if you count just whistling) of the songs, to support the harmonies. His new material was the whole first set, Seven Psalms. He was personable and gave some back stories on compositions, to add context, and provide interest to the audience. As the 2 hour show progressed, his energy waned a bit, but his voice and stage presence, experience and up to 12 person backing band supported the musical composer, such, that the only nominal weariness was easily dismissed, with the understanding that he is 83. He was more engaging with the audience than when we saw Dylan (10-6-23), but that's no surprise. As one would expect, his sound engineering and guitar techs brought world class precision to this rock and roll, as the line array, stage monitors and subs were top notch, the guys at the console were precise with the mix. He still has the verve and the enthusiasm; the performance provided a tremendous experience. In a brief conversation with the band's longtime musical director (from Appleton, Wisconsin) after the show, it was a great vibe, across delightful evening, for night 1 of a 3 show run in Chicago, and the tour is going well. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

Unfortunately, the show got cut short due to weather so I missed one of my favorite musicians of all time in Paul Simon and some of my other favorites like Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, The Killers, Patti Smith, etc. It was still a good day of music but it wasn't great because the show got cut short.
