Roots Raid was born in 2011 under the leadership of two musicians/producers friends Natty Bass, guitarist and bassist & Bongo B, percussionist.
They founded their own label Berry’s Records and created their analog studio in Tours in which they conceptualized and produced more than ten maxi vinyls since 2014 with prestigious MCs and guests (Shanti D, Danman, Peter Youthman, Mighty Cricket, etc.) .
After a first opus “From the top” focused on dub, roots and rub a dub released in 2014, and around a hundred dates in France and internationally (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Norway, etc.), Roots Raid returns with his second album “NUIT BLANCHE” composed of 18 tracks on the ODGprod label. A double album on which the toasters Cookah and Likkle Ferguson add their voices and lyrics. With “NUIT BLANCHE”, Roots Raid reinvents its style, at the crossroads of genres, between deep dub, stepper, bass music, cumbia and neo soul, while drawing on the roots of early roots and reggae.
An eclectic and assertive double album which reflects the influences which have inspired Roots Raid over the last 4 years. A project enriched by numerous collaborations and featuring: Panda Dub, Dawa Hifi, Mael Cageron.
After a single “Rooty Cowboy” co-produced with Panda Dub in April 2022, which evoked the initiatory journey of a young Cowboy becoming an adult, Nuit Blanche explores numerous universes, from the Milky Way (“Calling the universe”, “Milky Way”…), to modern times (“Modern Times”) through transidentity (“Transgender”).

Avec «NUIT BLANCHE», Roots Raid réinvente son style, à la croisée des genres, entre deep dub, stepper, bass music, cumbia et neo soul, tout en puisant dans les racines des débuts roots et reggae.
