Trip-hop guru musical maverick, and former Massive Attack member Tricky referred to her as a ‘female version of myself’.

Italian multi-instrumentalist ,Costanza Francavilla formed the ROCK BAND "ETNIA" in 1995, where she was SINGER SONGWRITER and GUITAR player...Sonic Youth and post-rock sounds meet Pink Floyd atmospheres...
After many shows in Italy, a stint in LONDON, and the auto-production of a 4 track cd ("Subway Scenes"), the band split in 1998...
Costanza moved to London... building up her solo project.
She then started to auto-produce her songs with a for 4 track tape-recorder and a DRUM-MACHINE...the influence of London "pre-millennium" ELECTRONICA scene begins ...

On the 17th of December 2001, TRICKY- trip-hop guru and "Bristol Sound" maverick and member of MASSIVE ATTACK , one of Costanza's favorite artists ever, came to play in Rome.
Costanza managed to give Tricky's drummer (Perry Melius) a demo cd (with 3 songs written, performed and produced by her).
The day after Tricky called her asking to work with her: the collaboration started.
In Spring 2002 she moved to L.A. to begin recording Tricky's new album VULNERABLE (released in June 2002)... singing on every songs and co-writing 2 of them (STAY and WHAT IS WRONG)... In fall 2002 a limited 2 Cd's-edition of Tricky's BLOWBACK album came out featuring Costanza song MY HEAD.
In summer 2003, Costanza performed live on Tricky's "13" tour all around Europe appearing nearly all the major festivals such as
Glastonbury, London Meltdown Festival, T in the Park , DOCTOR MUSIC FESTIVAL ( Spain) - VILAR DE MOUROS (Portugal) - EXIT (Serbia) - EUROCKENNES (France) - WITNESS FESTIVAL (Irland) ...

Her song DESIRE was released in the electronica compilation BACK TO MINE (Tricky) in 2003.

ZEROKILLED is a five tracks Ep written & produced by Costanza:
an introduction to upcoming album including "Burqa" and "I've been waiting for you" used in CSI - CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, Fifth Season - (" Nesting Dolls " and " Compulsion " Episodes).

"Burqa" is also been used on the L World (Episode 410) and "In the Sun" (from forthcoming album) on CSI 6th season .

These days, Costanza is based in Brooklyn, New York. She works out of her new studio, where she alternates her music production with different forms of multimedia art.
She recently perfomed at CMJ New York City and she plays tripnotic solo sets in the underground Nyc venues such as Tonic .
