ANECHOIS (An-echo-is) is a post-progressive rock band. Drawing from elements of progressive, post-rock, and math-rock, the quintet has quickly gained a reputation since 2011 for their live shows that run the gamut of dynamics from spine-chilling stillness to back-breaking intensity. From their appearance at Baybeats Festival 2012 to sold-out DIY affairs at Blujaz, playing full-house shows at quintessential venues in Manila to their 5 date tour of Japan in 2014, ANECHOIS is a band that constantly seeks out new ways to hone their exceptional sound—a seamless blend of complex rhythmic structures, atmospheric soundscapes and Haziq’s dreamy vocals that has been described as “ethereal”, “emotional” and “epic”. With the addition of Ahmad Khaliq on guitars/synth following Justin Koh’s departure, the sound of ANECHOIS has evolved even further. They’re currently recording a follow-up to 2014’s ‘Circles’, which showcased the band’s softer side with the use of acoustic guitars and electronic beats. The band also had the honour of opening for Australian post-punk minimalist band MY DISCO, collaborating with experimental artist anGie seah for Tribal Gathering of Tongue Tasters and playing for local heroes Amateur Takes Control’s farewell show. September 2013 saw guitarist Justin Koh leaving the band. He was replaced by Ahmad Khaliq from silhouette and the now-defunct Amateur Takes Control. The new line-up had just completed their tour of Japan with START OF THE DAY in support of 'Yggdrasill 1' and are now working on their debut album.
