The D4 was formed in Auckland by New Zealanders, Dion and Jimmy. These two musicians came together in 1998 after branching out from their former band, 'Nothing at All'. With their self-titled and self-released 1999 debut EP, the D4 created commotion with their garage-punk sound that was similar to the likes of AC/DC and Motörhead. In 2000 their self-titled CD EP and Ladies Man single became available. The following year, the D4 once again self-released their first full-length album entitled '6Twenty'. They then went on to release a second album 'Out of My Head' in 2005.
