Mission Man について

Touring Europe and the UK with my music in 2024 and 2025 was an absolutely incredible experience! I had been wanting to tour there for many years, and meeting people who had been fans for years was surreal.

I've been back in the States for over a year now, and am currently slowly working on my 16th studio album, "Gary Ferrari." Ferrari is one of my legal middle names. My dad loved cars, so he gave me that middle name. So, the title is definitely an ode to my father.

Since getting back to the US, I've been staying with family for financial reasons. Because of this, I don't have my usual recording setup, which has caused the direction of the new album to have a more lofi and raw feel.

It starts with a spoken word track, "In the Wolf's Mouth," which I wrote in the plane on the way to Italy for my first European tour. I had just moved out of my apartment and sold most of what I owned to make funding the tour slightly less impossible, so the poem addresses those fears, as well as the trust of being able to make the tour work due to the support of fans and family. The title comes from the Italian expression, "In Buca Al Lupo," (in the mouth of the wolf) which means good luck.

I have a couple of tracks where I solely use my voice for the music, and one where I play the acoustic guitar and rap.

"Where the Post Office Used to Be," uses my voice for the hi-hat, a hand drum as a kick drum, and a Tupperware dish as the snare. I also play the bass and piano, and rap and sing on the track.

As part of touring Europe, I learned enough Italian to have conversations in Italian with Italians. As part of that process, I translated several of my songs into Italian, to go along with the songs I've translated into Spanish (and 1 song in Portuguese).

I've been rapping since 1992 and playing instruments since 1998, and I still find purpose through my music every single day.

Thanks for being a part of my musical experience, and a part of my life!
